Jezierski Paces Men’s Golf at Rich Korzec Invitational

SUTTON, Mass. – The Worcester State University men's golf hosted the Rich Korzec Invitational on Tuesday and marked a fifth place team finish of seven teams in attendance at the event. Senior Michael Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) paced the Blue and Gold as he, individually, earned a second place finish of 35 golfers at the event.

RECAP

The Rich Korzec Invitational team winner went to Nichols College who posted a 315 on the one round of golf. Western New England followed close behind with a team total of 319 while Westfield State took third place. Rhode Island College slid into the fourth spot as they bested Worcester State by one stroke as the Invitational individual title went to the Anchormen's Nathan Patterson who carded a 71 on the par-72 course. He was -3 on par-5 scoring and recorded three birdies on the day.

 

Worcester State's Jezierski, Western New England's John Abbot, and Nichols' T. J. Barber tied for second place as they all carded a 74 (+2) on the day. In addition to Patterson who logged three birdies on the day, Mike Metcalf of Western New England and Jezierski also had three. Abbot led the group in pars with 14 while Barber and Patterson had 13 pars on the day.

 

Worcester State's Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, Mass.) carded a 79 and 81, respectively, while Zack Grenon (Northbridge, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Worcester with a 100.

The Worcester State golf team wraps up the 2017-18 season this weekend as they travel to the Cranston Country Club to take part in the Wildcat Invitational.
