Men’s Golf Wraps Up Spring Season at Wildcat Invitational; Jezierski Ties for Fourth

CRANSTON, R.I. – The Worcester State University men's golf team wrapped up spring play this weekend at the Wildcat Spring Invitational, hosted by Johnson & Wales University, and finished 16th of 19 teams in attendance as Lancer senior Michael Jezierski (Thompson, Conn.) led the way and tied for fourth place of 99 golfers with a 150 (80-70) in the two rounds of play.

RECAP

After day one, Jezierski was tied for 27th place with an 80 on the first round of golf. He came back on the second day and carded a spectacular 70 to move up the standings and earn a fourth place finish at the event. HE had the lowest score of the 99 golfers in attendance on day two.

 

Worcester State's Eddie Peladeau (Douglas, Mass.) tied for 63rd place, Mark Clemente (Holden, Mass.) tied for 83rd place, and Jared Gammell (Mattapoisett, Mass.) came in 93rd place at the event.

 

The team winner was Husson whose team carded a 6-2 (309-293) who overcame second place on day one and jumped above Western New England for the team honors.

 

The individual medalist was John Abbot of Western New England who carded a 146 (+4) in the two rounds of golf. Endicott's Athan Goulas and Husson's Mackenzie Clow tied for second, while Jezierski and two others tied for fourth place.
