Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at MCLA Invitational

PITTSFIELD, Mass. - Lancer freshman Connor Anderson carded a seven-over 79 on Thursday to lead the Worcester State University men's golf team to a sixth place finish at the MCLA Invitational held at Berkshire Hills Country Club.

Anderson's 79 was good enough for a tie for 10th place overall. Michael Dietz of Eastern Nazarene was the individual winner on the day, carding a one-under 71, while Westfield State University took the team title.

Freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) was the second Lancer finisher on the day, shooting a 10-over 82, followed close behind by junior Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.). Manning shot an 83 on the afternoon.

Rounding out the Lancers were senior Kyle Baker (Fresno, Calif.) and Zach Grenon (Uxbridge, Mass.). The pair shot 89 and 94, respectively.

Next up for the men's golf squad, the Lancers will head to Tekoa Country Club to take part in the Brett Williamson Invitational, hosted by Westfield State, on Wednesday, Sept. 19.
