Men's and Women's Golf Round Out Seasons at New England Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. - The season has come to a close for the Worcester State University men's and women's golf teams after competing in the final round of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championships Monday at The Captains Golf Course.

The men's team finished the tournament in 17th place overall with a two-day total of 665. The women's team competed individually, with junior Olivia Antonelli (Westford, Mass.) and freshman Anna Billings (Meriden, Conn.) each tying for 17th place overall with identical two-day scores of 222. Billings shot a 106 on Monday, while Antonelli turned in a 114 to close out their seasons.

Freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) entered round two with a share of the lead, but turned in an 84 on Monday to finish in a tie for 16th overall. Fellow rookie Brodie Coughlin (North Brookfield, Mass.) was the low shooter for the Lancers on Monday, as he carded an 81 to finish in a tie for 59th place. Juniors Connor Anderson (Raynham, Mass.) and Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.) each turned in 88s on Monday for the Lancers, while junior Zack Grenon (Uxbridge, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with a 93.
