NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's golf team finds itself in 14th place at the Lafrance Hospitality Invitational after round one Friday afternoon at Allendale Country Club.
Freshman Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) shot Worcester State's low round on the day with an 11-over 83. Right behind Poitras was junior Connor Anderson (Raynham, Mass.) and junior Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.), who each shot identical rounds of 84.
The fourth Lancer scorer was junior Brian Poillucci (North Attleboro, Mass.) with a round of 97, followed closely by classmate Zack Grenon (Uxbridge, Mass.) with a 98.
Worcester State will look to move up in the leaderboard on Saturday in round two, with another 1 p.m. shotgun start scheduled at Allendale Country Club.
