Men's Golf Takes Third at Brett Williamson Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Sophomore Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) led the Lancers with a six-over 78 to lead the Worcester State University men's golf team to a third place finish at the Brett Williamson Invitational Thursday at Tekoa Country Club. The Lancers combined for a score of 334.

Following Poitras was senior Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.), who turned in an 81. Sophomore Brodie Coughlin (North Brookfield, Mass.) carded an 83 to finish third for Worcester State.

Sophomores Gus Chapin (Northborough, Mass.) and Aidan Burke (Westborough, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Lancers by posting a 92 and a 97 respectively in their first competitions in Worcester State uniforms.

The Westfield State Blue Team won the event, shooting a team score of 302.

Worcester State will be back in action on Tuesday for the rescheduled MCLA Trailblazer Invitational at Berkshire Hills Country Club. The Lancers will tee off at 10 a.m.
