PITTSFIELD, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's golf team finished in fifth place as the Lancers competed in the MCLA Invitational Tuesday at Berkshire Hills Country Club.
Sophomore Brodie Coughlin (North Brookfield, Mass.) led the way for Worcester State with a round of 80 on the par-72 course. Classmate Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) was close behind Coughlin, shooting an 81, followed by senior Connor Anderson (Raynham, Mass.), who finished his day with an 82.
Rounding out the scores for Worcester State were seniors Zack Grenon (Uxbridge, Mass.) and Brian Poillucci (North Attleboro, Mass.), who each carded 85s on the day.
Westfield State narrowly won the event, defeating Elms College by a single stroke.
Worcester State will be back in action on Sunday at round one of the Elms Blazer Invitational at Westover Country Club.
