Men's Golf in Fourth Midway Through MASCAC Championships

WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. - The Worcester State University men's golf team finds itself in fourth place after the Lancers competed in round one of the 2019 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships Saturday afternoon at Wachusett Country Club. The Lancers shot a team score of 328 in the opening round.

Worcester State sophomore Jake Poitras (Harwich, Mass.) had a huge round for the Lancers with a three-over 75, a round that featured a trio of birdies. Poitras sits in sixth place in the tournament individually. Senior Connor Anderson (Raynham, Mass.) turned in an 82 for Worcester State, while junior Mark Clemente (Holden, Mass.) carded an 83.

Rounding out the scores for Worcester State were sophomore Brodie Coughlin (North Brookfield, Mass.) with a score of 88 and senior Mike Manning (Bridgewater, Mass.) with a score of 89.

The Lancers will close out the MASCAC Championships on Sunday at Wachusett Country Club. The first tee times of the day are at 10:30 a.m., with the first Lancer teeing off at 11:10 a.m.
