Mark Gurski has been involved with the Worcester State golf team since 1996. Coach Gurski was a standout student-athlete and he served as an assistant coach under Rich Korzec from 2000 until he took the reins of the program over in the fall of 2011.

In the spring of 2015, the Lancers' men's golf team captured their first MASCAC Championship since 1984-85 and had its first medalist at the competition since 2009-10. In most recent years, Gurski’s team has been competitive in both the MASCAC and GNAC Championships, as Gurski’s student-athlete, Michael Jezierski, earned the GNAC individual medalist honors and was named the GNAC Men's Golfer of the Year in the fall of 2016.

While he was an assistant, Coach Gurski helped guide the squad to three top-10 Division III finishes at the NEIGA Tournament including fifth in 2007 and a pair of sixth-place finishes in 2008 and 2010.

As a senior, Coach Gurski earned NEIGA All-New England honors in 1999 at New Seabury Country Club. He was also distinguished with six career medalist honors during his four years at Worcester State.
