Lancers Hockey Team to Begin Inaugural Season in Worcester Ice Center

OPENING NIGHT FLYER

The Worcester State University men's hockey team will begin its 2017-2018 season with a "White Out" home game match up against Johnson and Wales University (RI).  The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative Opening Night Game Puck.

 

The event will take place on Friday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the brand new Fidelity Bank Worcester Ice Center, located on 104 Harding St, Worcester, Mass. The event will be the Lancers first hockey game inside their new home arena.

 

Lancer fans are asked to turn out in "White Out" fashion, with all those in attendance wearing white to support the home team. Festivities for the event begin at 5:30 p.m. in Sheehan Hall (resident's hall) with free pizza and a pep rally for all students. There will be a fan bus that will leave Sheehan Hall at promptly 6:00 p.m. to transport students to and from the game. Prior to the start of the game, the Worcester State Chorale will perform the national anthem and some Lancer hockey legends will be on hand to drop the puck for a ceremonial face-off. Worcester State University mascot "Chandler H. Lancer" and Worcester Railers mascot "Trax" will be in attendance to provide in-game entertainment.

 

During the first intermission, the 2009 born Junior Railers elite hockey team will compete on the ice.   The second intermission will include a t-shirt giveaway.
