WORCESTER, Mass. – Connecticut College's Brenden Russ (Las Vegas, Nev.) scored an unassisted goal with 20 seconds remaining in the overtime period to lift the visiting Camels to a 3-2 win over the Worcester State Lancers in a Tuesday evening matchup inside the Worcester Ice Center.

1^ST PERIOD

Worcester State dominated the first period as they outshot the visitors 9-1 in the frame. Though, the game remained scoreless going into the second period as Connecticut College senior goaltender Timothy Cooney (Rocky Hill, Conn.) turned away all nine Lancer shots, including three on Worcester State power plays.

2^ND PERIOD

Worcester State reached the scoreboard first mid-way through the second period on their third power play chance of the game. Worcester State's Michael Moran (Milford, Mass.) tallied his 10^th goal of the season on assists from Kyle Hayter (Helena, Mont.) and Cody Weaver (Warwick, R.I.) in the 13^th minute to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

3^RD PERIOD

The Camels quickly came back from being behind 1-0 and scored two goals within 40 seconds of each other seven minutes into the third period. William White (Frisco, Texas) tallied the game-evening goal, and then Chris Jellison (Fitchburg, Mass.) received passes from Jake Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) and AJ Wallace (West Chester, Pa.) seconds later to take the 2-1 lead. However, Worcester State did not let up and capitalized on a power play opportunity late in the third to knot the score at 2-2 on a Matthew Manning (Novi, Mich.) tally. Neither team was able to score in the four and a half minutes remaining, to send the game into overtime.

OVERTIME

Connecticut College owned the overtime period, as they recorded five shots before the game-winner by Russ with 20 seconds remaining. The Camels held the Lancers to no shots throughout the overtime stanza.

DOWN FOR A COUNT

• Connecticut College held a 27-25 edge in shots throughout the game. Worcester State dominated the first period, while Connecticut College came striking back and held a heavy shooting advantage in the third and overtime periods.
• Worcester State went 2-for-8 (.250) on power plays, while Connecticut College did not convert any on four chances.
• Connecticut College's Cooney earned his first victory of the season in net, turning away 23-of-25 shots on net.
• Josh Reinstein (Woodland Hills, Calif.) takes the loss in a 24-save performance.
