Drevitch’s Hat-Trick Leads Him to MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week Laurels

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman forward Tim Drevitch (Oxford, N.J.) has earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's ice hockey rookie of the week award after tallying three goals and an assist in a 0-1-1 week for the Lancers.

Drevitch netted a hat-trick in the draw with Fitchburg State on Saturday. He scored an early goal, and added two consecutive goals late in the third period for the 4-4 tie. Earlier in the week, he added an assist on the game-tying third period goal in the 6-5 overtime setback to UMass Dartmouth.

Head coach Shayne Toporowski commented on Drevitch's mentality, "Tim comes ready to play every night, earning every minute of ice he gets allowing me to utilize Tim in key situations. He has been rewarded with a couple timely goals and I'd like to congratulate Tim on the rookie of the week honors."

The men's ice hockey team is back in action on Thursday (Feb. 1) when they host Plymouth State in a 7 p.m. tilt.
