BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Worcester State University men's ice hockey freshman goaltender Ryan Hoff (Brockton, Mass.) has been named to the D3hockey.com National Team of the Week. The announcement was made on Thursday morning.

Playing in his first collegiate game, Hoff made 38 saves for the shutout in a 1-0 overtime win over Assumption last Saturday. He is the first Worcester State goalie to record a shutout in his first collegiate game since 2015. Hoff was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday for his efforts.

It is the second time this season that a Lancer has received national recognition from D3hockey.com. Senior Mike Moran (Milford, Mass.) was also named to the D3hockey.com Team of the Week on January 11.

Hoff is expected to be between the pipes on Thursday evening as the Lancers battle for playoff positioning against Westfield State. Puck drop from Westfield's Amelia Park Ice Arena is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
