Ryan Palmer enters his fifth season as an assistant coach for the Worcester State Ice Hockey program.

Coach Palmer brings a wealth of experience to the defensive corps.  In his nine-year professional career, Palmer amassed over 500 career games, while playing in the CHL, IHL, ECHL, and AHL.  He was elected by his teammates to be an alternate captain for six out of the nine seasons.

Coach Palmer participated in the Massachusetts Satellite Program from 1996-2001, where he competed against the top kids in the nation.  Coach Palmer played high school hockey at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School where he was a perennial all-star, captain, and elected Lowell Sun Player of the Year in 2001.  During his junior and senior years, he played in the EJHL for the Jr. Huskies. 

After completing high school, Coach Palmer played one season for UMass-Amherst - an NCAA Division I program.  After being injured his freshman year, Coach Palmer decided to return to the EJHL and play for the Jr. Coyotes.  Coach Palmer was an alternate captain and elected to the All-Star game that season.  During his time with the Jr. Coyotes, Coach Palmer gained the attention of the NCAA Division I University of Connecticut program, where he continued his playing and completed his collegiate career.

Coach Palmer resides in Groton, Mass. He is the CTO of ProSharp Inc. and a coach for Competitive Goals alongside Coach Toporowski.
