WORCESTER, Mass. – A header by Framingham State's Jeffrey Braverman (Framingham, Mass.) in overtime lifted the Rams over Worcester State 3-2 in Saturday afternoon's Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) play.

The game-winning goal was assisted by Ken Stahovish (Springfield, Mass.), who totaled four points in the contest (one goal and two assists).

With the win, the Rams advance to 4-4, and remain undefeated at 2-0 in conference play. With the loss, the Lancers slip to 3-3 overall, and 0-2 in the MASCAC.

The game was slow to start as most of play was back-and-forth passing in the  midfield. Framingham State held the shot advantage 3-2 in the first 45 minutes of play as only three (two Framingham, one Worcester) shots were listed on goal.

The first shot of the game didn't come until the 19th minute when Worcester's Matthew Dent (Ludlow, Mass.) found a ball with his head off a free kick, though, the shot took a wide left turn.

Framingham State responded with back-to-back shots on goal from Daniel Campos (Framingham, Mass.) and Andy Segura (Haverhill, Mass.); however, Worcester State's Jason Barrett (Spencer, Mass.) recorded his two saves on the half – one of which was a diving save.

Right before the clock ran out in the first, Worcester's Bryan Brasil (Williamsburg, Mass.) fired a shot at Framingham State's keeper, Josh Arno (Natick, Mass.) who tallied his second and final save of the game.

Just three minutes into the second half, Worcester State took the first lead of the game when the Lancers capitalized on a Noah Phelps (Attleboro, Mass.) corner kick. Freshman Matthew Stabell (Acushnett, Mass.) put a head on the ball, drilling the ball into the back left of the netting for the 1-0 advantage.

The Rams tied the game up in 55th minute when Johance Liverpool (Milton, Mass.) slid the ball past Barrett following a Stahovish corner kick.

The Lancers stole back the lead in the 63rd minute when Brasil sprinted down the left side of the field and crossed the ball from the corner for teammate Andre Ipojuca (Saugus, Mass.) to place in the goal for the 2-1 gain.

The game saw its second tie of the day when Framingham State scored a goal in 88th minute of the game. Gerardo Ramirez (Burlington, Mass.) crossed the ball in the air for Stahovish to head into net, eventually resulting in the overtime period.

In the overtime period, Stahovish came through with another arching ball for Braverman to seize the win.

In goal, Arno registered his third win of the season in a two-save performance, while Barrett slips to 1-2 in a five-save performance.

Framingham State held the advantage in shots 17-7 and in corner kicks 7-2 throughout the entirety of the contest.

The Lancers resume play on Tuesday (Sep. 27) when they host Nichols College in a non-conference game under the lights at Coughlin Stadium. The Rams are also back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Paxton, Mass. to face the Anna Maria College AMCATS.
