WESTFIELD, Mass. - Westfield State University's junior Legend Mu'min (Springfield, Mass.) scored 2:19 into overtime to lead 1-0 over Worcester State University in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) matchup at Alumni Field Saturday afternoon.

1ST HALF
Westfield State controlled the ball in the first stanza as they outshot the Lancers 9-2. Westfield State's Kyle Mutti (Feeding Hills, Mass.) fired off three shots in the period, while the Owls only allowed one shot on net from the Lancers' Andre Ipojuca (Saugus, Mass.) in the 5th minute.
2ND HALF
Worcester State's best scoring opportunity occurred with 21 minutes left in regulation when freshman Dillon Pooler (Southampton, Mass.) sent a bullet from 30 yards out on a free kick. The Owls' senior goalkeeper Alex Kraver (West Springfield, Mass.) was quick to make the save. Westfield State outshot Worcester State by a 5-3 edge in the second stanza.
OVERTIME
On the game winning goal, Westfield State freshman Ryan Morais (Uxbridge, Mass.) played the ball out of the back to Kieran Moriarty (West Springfield, Mass.) who raced past a sliding defender near midfield, then slotted a through ball to Mu'min on the left side. Mu'min was in one on one against Worcester State goalkeeper Jason Barrett (Spencer, Mass.) and beat him with a shot to the right side.
INSIDE THE NUMBER
- Kraver earned the win in net as he stopped 1-of-3 on the day.
- Barrett totaled nine saves in net for the Lancers and suffered the loss.
- Westfield State outshot Worcester State by a margin of 15-5.
- Each team tallied one corner kick apiece throughout the contest.
