Men's Track and Field Place 3rd in MASCAC; 5th in Alliance Championships

Men's Track and Field Place 3rd in MASCAC; 5th in Alliance Championships
The Worcester State Men's Track and Field team posted a 3rd place finish at the 2018 MASCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships held by host Rhode Island College.  The men finished in 5th in the Alliance scoring of the event.
 
Leading the way for the Lancers was sophomore Eddie Boamah (Worcester, Mass) who was the MASCAC and Alliance Champion in the 200 meter with a time of 22.46.  Boamah also earned MASCAC Champion accolades for the 400 meter performance with a time of 50.42 which was good for second place in the Alliance.
 
John Ojukwu (Stow, Mass), in his second meet of the year, won both the MASCAC and Alliance in the 60 meter with a time of 6.94 which now ranks him 8th in the NCAA national rankings.
 
The Lancers posted three MASCAC Champions in the the field events.  Sophomore Justin Lewis (Lynn, MA) continued his dominance in the High Jump with a leap of 2.03 meters.  The jump was good enough to earn the Alliance Championship as well.  Eddie Acuna (Newton, Mass) won the Shot Put with a throw of 15.50 also good for the second in the Alliance.  Marcus Vieira (Peabody, Mass) also garnered a MASCAC Championship and 2nd place Alliance finish in the Weight Throw with a distance of 17.38.
