Five Lancers Compete in Day One of Men's New England Indoor Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Five Worcester State University men's indoor track & field athletes competed Friday afternoon at the first day of the New England Championships at the Johnson Athletic Center on the campus of MIT.

The 4000 meter distance medley relay team, comprised of Drew Fottler (Chelmsford, Mass.), Joe Grider (Hopedale, Mass.), Brian King (Stow, Mass.), and Patrick Carleton (Tewksbury, Mass.), opened the day for the Lancers, finishing in 16th place. The quartet ran a time of 11:04.86.

Senior Scott Page (Winchendon, Mass.) competed in the pole vault on the day, finishing in eighth place by clearing a height of 4.32 meters.

Several more Lancers will be in action tomorrow for day two of the New England Championships on Saturday at MIT.
