Men's Indoor Track & Field Runs John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. - An octet of Worcester State University men's indoor track & field athletes competed on Saturday in the John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University at the Track & Tennis Center.

The meet featured athletes from all three NCAA Divisions, as well as professional track & field athletes and even a handful of world record holders.

Opening the day were senior Richie Custodio (Wakefield, Mass.) and sophomore Robert Doig (Ashby, Mass.), who competed in the 800 meter run. The duo placed 167th and 174th respectively. Junior Omar Cordova (Worcester, Mass.) followed up the event with a 126th place finish in the 400 meter dash.

In the 200 meter dash, sophomore Andre Luciano (Milford, Mass.) placed 106th overall, with senior Michael Butten (Marblehead, Mass.) placing 154th.

Sophomores Sam Magee (Salem, Mass.) and Wayne Carey (Shrewsbury, Mass.) represented the Lancers in the 1,000 meter run, and finished in 68th and 73rd respectively. Rounding out the day was sophomore Patrick Carleton (Tewksbury, Mass.) in the mile run, who finished in 143rd place.

The Lancers will be back in action for the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University next Saturday morning.
