Boamah Earns MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week Award

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State’s Edward Boamah (Worcester, Mass.) earned the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men’s track athlete of the week as announced by the league Monday (Apr. 23) afternoon.

 

This past weekend, Boamah claimed top honors at the Springfield Classic with a time of 56.34 to qualify for Division III New England’s in his first attempt at the 400 meter hurdles. He currently sits at second place in the MASCAC, third place in the Alliance, and 12th in Division III New England in the event.

 

He also competed in the 100 meter dash (11.03) and ran the second leg of a 4x100 meter relay that claimed third place (44.35).

 

Next up, the men’s track & field team travels across-town for meet with Holy Cross, University of Rhode Island, and University of New Hampshire. This Saturday, the team competes in the MASCAC/Alliance Championships.
