Bova, Daley Help Propel Men's Cross Country At WNE Invitational

 

Springfield, MA --- Junior Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) and senior Pat Daley (Millbury, MA) both recorded top 50 finishes to help pace the Worcester State men's cross country team at the Western New England Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The Lancers finished the meet with a score of 236 in eighth place, just 71 points out of the top five. The race featured 190 individuals and 18 different institutions.

Bova had the best time for the Lancers with a split of 28:21.09 for 31st place while Daley clocked 47th (28:58.00). Junior Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) and classmate Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) finished 53rd (29:09.00) and 56th (29:16.18), respectively.

Junior Edwin Nash (Charlton, MA) placed 102nd (30:47.84), freshman John Leary (Worcester, MA/South) added 104th (30:52.84) and sophomore Brendan Blair (Tewksbury, MA) notched 153rd (34:01.38) to round out the competators for the Blue and Gold.

Worcester State takes the week off before competing at the MASCAC/Alliance Championships hosted by Southern Maine on November 2.
