Men's Cross Country Notches Fourth At MASCAC Championships

 

Gorham, ME --- Paced by junior Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) and senior Pat Daley (Millbury, MA), the Worcester State men's cross country team placed fourth overall at the MASCAC Championships hosted by Southern Maine on Saturday morning.

As a team the Lancers scored 118 points to edge Mass Maritime (124) for a top-four finish. WSU was also eighth in the New England Alliance standings as Hebert posted a top 50 time out of 161 entrants.

In the MASCAC standings, Hebert placed 17th overall with a time of 28:15.55 while Daley added 24th (28:44.13). Junior Adam Pepin (Paxton, MA) followed with 30th (29:07.62) as freshman Will Whearty (Walpole, MA) and junior Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) were 43rd (30:14.22) and 53rd (31:00.22), respectively.

Junior Edwin Nash (Charlton, MA) (32:26.09 - 62nd place) and freshman Brett Robinson (Westboro, MA) (32:29.05 - 63rd) rounded out the Blue and Gold with the key points to round out the finishers for WSU.

The Lancers will compete again on the same 8k course in two weeks at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Qualifier.
