Men's Cross Country Finishes Seventh At UNE Invitational

 

Biddeford, ME --- Freshman Jason Bangs (Charlton, MA) underscored a strong seventh place showing for the Worcester State men's cross country team at the University of New England Invitational on Saturday morning.

The Lancers scored 178 points as the top seven were among the top 60 in an 8k race at Rotary park that featured 16 teams and 145 individuals.

Bangs was 25th overall (28:26.0) and he had the 10th-best split for a first-year student-athlete in the race.

Senior Wesley Hebert (Leominster, MA) added 35th (28:50.0) followed by freshman Daniel Brunelle (Dracut, MA) and classmate Marques Johnson (W. Hartford, CT) who were 38th (28:57.0) and 39th (28:57.5), respectively.

Freshman Patrick Scheeler (Wakefield, MA) notched 41st (29:00.0), teammate Devin Luce (Milford, MA) recorded 46th (29:19.0) and senior Patrick Bova (Princeton, MA) was the seventh Lancer scorer with 58th individually (30:34.0).

Worcester State will try to shoot for fast times at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational next weekend.
