Roy Named MASCAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University’s rookie runner, Dan Roy (Dudley, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rookie of the week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

 

This past weekend at the Jim Sheehan Invitational, Roy crossed the finish line fifth overall in his collegiate debut with an 8K time of 27:47.

 

Head coach Al Halper stated, "Dan is going to have a significant impact on our success this year.  He ran a good race and listened well to the race plan we discussed prior to the race.  It is a great start for him in his first race. He can only improve as the season continues.”

 

This upcoming weekend, the men’s cross country team travels to Biddeford, Maine to take part in the University of New England Invitational.
