Roy Earns Second MASCAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Week Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Freshman Dan Roy (Dudley, Mass.) has been recognized as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's cross country rookie of the week, as announced by the league Monday (Nov. 13) afternoon.

Roy was the first Lancer to cross the finish line at the NCAA DIII New England Championships with a 142nd finish. He completed the 8K course with a time of 28:01.2. He was among the top 20 freshman running in the race.

"Freshman Dan Roy ran perhaps his best race of the year, as he stayed focused to finish the top Lancer in the competition and the top freshman MASCAC finisher in the race," stated head coach Al Halper. "This is a good sign for the future."

The Lancers closed out the 2017 season, but look forward to the return of strong group of athletes for the 2018 season.
