Smith-Porter Tabbed MASCAC Softball Player of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass.Dakota Smith-Porter (Montague, Mass.) of the Worcester State softball team has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) softball player of the week, as released by the league Monday (Apr. 2) afternoon.

 

In the past two weeks of play, Smith-Porter played in nine games and batted .563 (18-32) with five doubles, three home runs, six runs scored and 12 RBI with a .588 on base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.

 

She went 4-for-7 with two home runs, two runs scored and four RBI in the doubleheader split with Westfield State, including the game-tying two run home run in the 6-5 game two victory. She went 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored in the 13-7 win over Buffalo State and 3-for-4 with a double and RBI in the 9-2 win over Union College.

 

She batted .500 or above in 8-of-9 games played.

 

The Worcester State softball team resumes action tomorrow (Apr. 3) as they head to Clark for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
