Kaiulani Ennis Named Player of the Year as Softball All-Conference Released

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Junior Kaiulani Ennis (Swansea, Mass.) was announced as the Player of the Year as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference released its softball All-Conference selections on Wednesday afternoon.

Ennis was also Worcester State's only First Team All-Conference selection. Infielders Katie Polselli (Charlton, Mass.), Ashley Lynch (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and Samantha Stake (Worcester, Mass.) all landed spots on the Second Team All-MASCAC.

Ennis was Worcester State's strongest hitter all season, batting .376 with nine doubles, five home runs, 27 runs batted in, and 21 runs scored, which all ranked in the top 10 in the MASCAC. Ennis batted .419 in conference games, where she also hit three of her home runs on the season.

Polselli finished second on the Lancers with 20 RBIs and a .353 batting average in her senior season. She finished the season with one home run, coming against Becker College on March 28. Her fielding percentage of .984 was best among Worcester State infielders on the season, as she committed just two errors all season.

Lynch tied with Polselli as Worcester State's second leading hitter this season, recording an identical .353 average. She was second on Worcester State with 42 hits in her junior season. With a .455 batting average in MASCAC games, Lynch ranked seventh in the conference and first on her team.

Stake batted .296, with three doubles and two triples in her junior season to earn her first all-conferecne selection. She was third on her team with 15 runs batted in and fourth with 32 hits and 12 runs scored.
