Women’s Basketball Team to Host Ninth Annual “Math Madness” Game

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University women's basketball team is set to host their ninth annual "Math Madness" event on Wednesday (Jan. 11) at 12 noon inside the Lancer Gymnasium.

The women's basketball team will be matching up against the No. 1 team in the country, Tufts University, who is coached by central Mass. standout native, Carla Berube. The event will allow local children in the Worcester area an opportunity to enhance their math skills through basketball.

Students from the May Street School, Chandler Magnet, Tatnuck Magnet, Forest Grove, Flagg Street, and Narragansett Middle School will be in attendance and will be given grade appropriate math packets with questions pertaining to player's statistics, scores, averages, court dimensions, etc.

Immediately following the conclusion of the contest, both women's basketball teams will have an autograph session where the students can meet the Lancers of Worcester State, and the Jumbos of Tufts.
