Chase Honored As MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week

 

Westfield, MA --- Sophomore Kaila Chase (Northbridge, MA) has been tabbed MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her outstanding efforts in leading the Lancers to a 2-0 week.

Chase collected 16 points on nine goals and seven assists which included five goals, three helpers and a trio of ground balls in a home victory over Framingham State before she potted four goals and dished out four assists in a road win over Mass Maritime.

Through 11 games this season, Chase has compiled the fifth most goals (37) in the MASCAC and she is also fifth in the conference in points (50) while her 13 assists are tied for seventh. She has also helped lead the Blue and Gold to a 3-1 mark in league action with 13 of her 21 points coming off of goals.

This past Monday in a triumph over Colby-Sawyer, Chase became the ninth player to reach the 100 point milestone as she has registered a remarkable 77 goals and 24 assists for 101 points in just 30 games.

She is also tied with current teammate and junior Molly Kilday (Westford, MA) for seventh in career tallies.

Chase helped pace the Lancers last season to a 13-6 mark in addition to MASCAC Tournament Semifinals and the ECAC Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Tournament Semifinals.

Worcester State (9-3) closes out their season with two key league games against Salem State tonight at 7 PM and on Saturday at Fitchburg State in a noontime affair.
