Archer, Rotatori, Maunsell Selected To All-MASCAC Women's Soccer Team

Westfield, MA --- Senior classmates Brittany Rotatori (Auburn, MA) and Laura Maunsell (Medford, MA) along with junior Shelby Archer (Dayville, CT) have all been tabbed to the All-MASCAC Women's Soccer team in a vote by the leagues eight head coaches earlier this week as announced by league publicist Emily Diekelmann.

Rotatori was honored on the First-Team while Maunsell and Archer received a nod to the Second-Team. For the trio, it marks the first time that they have each been named to the all-conference team.

Rotatori, who started in 15 games and played in 18 contests at outside back, helped anchor a defense that posted the third lowest goals against average in the MASCAC (1.23).

In conference play, the defensive backfield shined by yielding just eight markers to pass between the pipes in seven games – with shutouts over Mass Maritime, Salem State (in double overtime) and Fitchburg State.

Archer collected four goals and a team-best seven assists for 15 points in 17 games for the Lancers at center midfield. Her seven helpers are tied for third in the MASCAC and equal a program mark for the second-most in a single season.

While Archer has been a strong presence on both ends of the field for the Blue and Gold this campaign, she has come through in the clutch as well. Archer has potted the game-winning goals against Albertus Magnus and in a 2-1 conference win against MCLA while she also came up with the match-clinching helpers against Fitchburg State and UMass Dartmouth.

Maunsell chipped in with four goals and one assist for nine points in 18 games for WSU. She has played at both center midfield and forward to post the fourth-highest point total on the club.

Among the markers she has netted on the campaign, Maunsell potted the deciding tally in a 2-1 win against Plymouth State on a penalty kick late in the contest. With 15 career goals and 7 assists to her credit, Maunsell is among the top 20 on the all-time scoring list.

The Lancers (10-5-2), under the guidance of sixth-year head coach Kevin Cumberbatch, earned the fourth seed in this week's MASCAC Tournament. After defeating #5 Salem State in the quarterfinals, they have advanced to play at top-seeded Framingham State in the semifinals today at 2 o'clock.
