1ST HALF

MIT got on the board first in the 13th minute as senior Olivia Struckman (Scottsdale, Ariz.) found the foot of sophomore Montana Reilly (Los Angeles, Calif.), who was driving into the box. Reilly fired the ball into the top half of the goal above the hands of Jill Zinkus (Grafton, Mass.) for the 1-0 lead. The score would remain at 1-0 throughout the remainder of the first half, despite MIT holding a 14-3 shot advantage. Worcester State's rookie goaltender, Zinkus, registered eight saves in the first half.

2nd HALF

In the second half, the Engineers potted three goals in a span of 11:06 to break the game wide open. At the 65:15 mark, Hailey Nichols (Boulder, Colo.) lined up for a free kick from beyond midfield and found Struckman heading towards the net as Struckman gave MIT the 2-0 lead. Just 3:25 later, sophomore Berzolla launched the ball with the win from 40 yards out for the 3-0 advantage.

Berzolla scored MIT's final goal of the game on a corner kick that sailed into the corner of the net untouched over Zinkus for her second goal of the match. Worcester State would find the back of the net in the 83rd minute on one of its two shots in the second stanza for the Lancers when Maddie Fong (Norton, Mass.) sent a corner kick to the feet of Jenna Matthew (Auburn, Mass.) to cut the deficit to 4-1.
