CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's soccer was faced with more than it could handle on Tuesday afternoon, falling to nationally-ranked MIT 7-0 in non-conference action at Steinbrenner Stadium.

MIT scored three goals in the first half and four in the second half to control the contest from the outset. Karenna Groff scored four goals for the Engineers en route to the victory, as the Engineers outshot the Lancers 31-4.

Tori Socci (Blackstone, Mass.) and Ashley Spellman (Lancaster, Mass.) shared the Worcester State net, and each made six saves in 45 minutes of action.

Worcester State will be back in action on Saturday for a noon kickoff at home against Framingham State.
