WESTFIELD, Mass. - Worcester State University women's soccer junior Ali Maldonado (Rutland, Mass.) has been named the Player of the Week by the Massachusetts Stat Collegiate Athletic Conference, brought to you by GEICO. The announcement was made by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Maldonado stayed red hot last week, scoring three of Worcester State's four goals as the Lancers went 1-0-1 in two games. Maldonado scored both Worcester State goals, including the game-winner with 4:06 remaining, in a thrilling 2-1 win over Keene State on Tuesday, and scored the late game-tying goal on a penalty kick in a MASCAC draw against Salem State on Saturday.
Maldonado and the Lancers will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon with a 4 p.m. kickoff at MIT in Cambridge.
