Women's Tennis Drops Regular Season Finale

HOLDERNESS, N.H. - The Worcester State University women's tennis team rounded out its regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 loss to Plymouth State University in Little East Conference action at the Holderness School.

With the result, both teams move to 9-5 overall and 6-3 in the LEC. The Lancers earn a four-seed in the conference tournament, and will host an LEC First Round match on Tuesday.

Worcester State carried a 2-1 lead into singles play after wins at first and second doubles. Senior Lauren Taylor (Attleboro, Mass.) and junior Dominique Alves (Ludlow, Mass.) won 8-3 at first doubles, while sophomore Charlotte Mullane (Sterling, Mass.) and junior Emma Collings (Marion, Mass.) got the job done with an 8-5 win in the two position.

The Panthers dominated singles play however, winning every singles match except in the second position, where Alves was victorious 6-2, 6-2, as the Panthers were able to secure a come-from-behind victory.
