BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Worcester State University's freshman Asgerdur Jana Agustsdottir (Akureyri, Iceland) placed 11^th of 17 contestants with a score of 3,171 in the pentathlon Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Championships.

AGUSTSDOTTIR PENTATHLON RESULTS

• Shot Put: 3^rd Place - 11.07m (36' 4")
• High Jump: 7^th Place - 1.62m (5' 3.75")
• 60 Meter Hurdles: 14^th Place  - 9.56
• Long Jump: 14^th Place - 4.92m (16' 1.75")
• 800 Meters: 16^th Place - 2:48.58

In today's pentathlon contest, Agustsdottir set a personal record in the 60 meter hurdles (9.56). Her previous marking was 9.61, which she earned at the Division III New England Championships on Feb. 16.

Also on Feb. 16, Agustsdottir marked a Worcester State school record 3,425 in the pentathlon en route to a personal record in the high jump 1.69m (5' 6.5"). She was ranked third in New England, and fifth in the nation in the pentathlon going into NCAA's.

Agustsdottir was one of two freshmen competing in the pentathlon at the national event.
