Mensah Tabbed MASCAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State first year Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's indoor track & field rookie of the week for her trifecta MASCAC championship accolades in the 60 meter, long jump, and triple jump this past weekend at the MASCAC/Alliance Championships.

 

Mensah led a trio of Lancers in the 60 meter as Worcester State took the top three spots with a time of 8.09. That finish was good for 5th in the Alliance. In the Long Jump, Mensah posted a leap of 5.29 meters (5th Alliance) and in the Triple Jump she went for 11.03 (3rd Alliance).  Mensah also scored in the 200 and 4X200 relay.

 

Also this weekend, Mensah broke the league record in the 60 meters with a preliminary time of 8.00 seconds.

 

The Lancers will continue their indoor season this weekend as qualifiers will head to Middlebury College to compete in the DIII New England Championships.
