Mensah Named MASCAC Women’s Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) women's indoor track & field rookie of the week for her performances at the Tufts Last Chance Meet this past Saturday.

On Saturday, she competed in three events, registering a personal record in the triple jump at 11.07m (36' 3.75"), which was good for fifth place. She came in 10th in the long jump (5.01m/16' 5.25") and ninth in the 60 meter dash (8.15).

"Ending her indoor season on a personal record in triple jump is ending on a high note," expressed women's indoor head coach Andrea Ouellette.  "We've been really working technique lately, which can be frustrating but Bernice stays positive and is showing improvement with it."

"I'm excited to see what she can come out and do during the outdoor season," concluded Ouellette.
