WESTFIELD, Mass. - Maureen Grady (Douglas, Mass.), a freshman on the Worcester State University women's indoor track & field team, has been named the Field Athlete of the Week by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference. The announcement came from the league office on Tuesday morning.
Grady was a force to be reckoned with for the Lancers in the season-opening Emmanuel College Invitational on Saturday, with three top-five finishes. Grady finished second in both the long jump (5.18 meters) and 60 meter dash (8.10 seconds), while finishing fifth in the triple jump (10.22 meters).
Grady and the Lancers will be off until after the holiday break, returning to action on Saturday, January 11 at Brandeis University's Reggie Poyau Invitational.
