Delaware, OH --- Senior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) placed fifth overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.24 to earn All-American accolades on the final day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at Selby Stadium.
Deininger, who was making her third outdoor appearance at the national outdoor meet, becomes the fourth female Lancer to earn All-American honors as she joins junior teammate Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA), who took home eighth yesterday in the heptathlon.
After coming close to making the finals of the 100 meter hurdles in each of the last two spring campaigns, she stamped her ticket yesterday with the third fastest split in the trials (14.10). It was a close finish at the top as 0.12 seconds separated the second through fifth slots in the last women's 100 meter race of the year.
Senior Mallory Burnham (Eagan, MN) of St. Thomas won the event with a time of 14.02. Deininger was the lone competitor from New England in the finals of the 100 meter hurdles as six of the eight representatives came from Midwest institutions.
With the third fastest time in program history today, Deininger adds an exclamation point to what has been a memorable outdoor season, capturing her first career All-American finish in her final collegiate race.
Deiniger was recognized as the MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week for her outstanding finish at the NCAA Championships.

Delaware, OH --- Senior Christy Deininger (N. Attleboro, MA) qualified for the finals of the 100 meter hurdles with the third fastest trial time overall (14.10) at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this evening hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
Deinigner won her heat with the second best split in team history as she figures to take a preferred middle lane in the finals of the event tomorrow at 2:25 PM. Deininger will be the only individual from New England to take the starting blocks in the last race of the 100 meter hurdles on Saturday.
Entering the competition that included 22 entrants, Deininger had the top seed with the program standard she set last week as the ECAC Champion in the 100 meter hurdles at 14.08.
After today's three heats, Deinigner only trailed junior Jaime Ludwigson (Bloomer, WI) of Wisconsin La-Crosse (13.99) and senior Sierra DeLeon (Upper Marlboro, MD) of Kenyon (14.05).
