Women’s Track & Field Kicks Off 2016 Outdoor Campaign at Wesleyan Invite

Wesleyan Spring Break Invitational Results

 

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The women's track & field team kicked off their 2016 campaign at the Wesleyan Spring Break Track & Field Invitational on Saturday (Mar. 26), as freshman Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.) qualified for ECAC Championships and Francesca Casasanta (Milford, Mass.), Dalena Le (Worcester, Mass.), and  Molly Downing (Dedham, Mass.) all qualified for Division III New England's.

 

Casasanta marked a first place finish in the women's high jump with a height of 1.57m, qualifying for Division III New England's. McFadries came in fifth place in the women's javelin throw qualifying for both Division III New England's and ECAC Championships with a distance of 38.16m.

 

Le marked a third place finish in the 400 Hurdles in a time of 1:09.13, qualifying for Division III New England Championships. Sophomore Abigail Danso (Worcester, Mass.) came in fifth in the Women's 100 Hurdles, marking a time of 17.40.

 

Downing came in second in the women's hammer throw, marking a distance of 42.00m to qualify for Division III New England's. Elizabeth McCormack (Gloucester, Mass.) came in a few behind at sixth place in the same event.

 

Justine Murdocca (Milford, Mass.) marked a 4th place finish in the Women's 5000 Meters in a time of 20:37.77.

 

Next week the Lancers' women's outdoor track & field team travels to Tufts for their second meet of the outdoor season.
