Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Takes Ninth at Tufts Snowflake Classic; Murdocca Breaks 10K School Record

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Worcester State University women's outdoor track & field team resumed completion on Saturday as they traveled to the Tufts Snowflake Classic and came in ninth out of 20+ teams at the event.

WORCESTER STATE TOP PERFORMERS

 

RECAP

Worcester State's Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) earned the top spot in the triple jump at the Snowflake Classic with a leap of 11.15m (36' 7"). She also performed well in the long jump, 200 meter dash, and 100 meter dash.

 

Asgerdur Jana Agustsdottir (Akureyi, Iceland) notched second place in the javelin with a distance of 38.76m (127' 2") while teammate Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.) came in right behind at 38.40m (126').

 

Worcester State's relay teams tacked on some points toward the Lancers' 42-point total while Justine Murdocca (Milford, Mass.) came in seventh place in the 10K with a school record time of 39:33.73. She bested Erin Donahue who held the previous school record at 39:33.80 in 2012.

 

Abigail MacGregor (Salem, N.H.) posted a PR in the 200 meter at 27.05.

 

UP NEXT

The Lancers will travel to Springfield, Mass. for the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational next weekend.
