Women’s Track & Field Attends MIT Last Chance Meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Worcester State University women's track & field team traveled to MIT Thursday evening to compete in the MIT Last Chance Meet.

RECAP

Stephanie McFadries (Burlington, Mass.) competed in the javelin throw and won the competition with a top throw of 39.95m (131' 1"). Her season best in the event was 40.79m (133' 10"), which she marked at the New England/Alliance Outdoor Championships on April 28. With this result, she stands at 26th in the nation.

 

Senior Abigail Danso (Worcester, Mass.) competed in the hurdles. Her season best in the hurdles came two weekends ago when she broke 15 minutes and logged a time of 14.85. This result puts her at 44th in the country.

 

Bernice Mensah (Worcester, Mass.) competed in the triple jump and recorded a leap of 11.01m (36' 1.5"). Her personal record in the event is 11.59m (38' 0.25") which she registered at the Division III New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 3.

 

UP NEXT

The top-22 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships, to be held in La Crosse, Wisconsin next week.
