Buzzards Bay, MA --- Worcester State freshman Alyssa Jasper has been named MASCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for helping lead the Lancers to a 3-1 week.
Jasper, who hails from Rockland, MA, was solid offensively as
she averaged 9.25 kills, 2.25 digs, 2 blocks and 1.75 service aces
while she also notched a .318 hitting percentage on the week.
She started things off with five kills and three blocks in a
3-1 triumph over MCLA before she added nine kills and five aces in
a 3-0 victory over Southern Maine. Jasper ended the week with a 17
kill performance with two solo blocks in a 3-1 setback to UMass
Dartmouth.
Jasper is currently first on the squad in average kills (1.73), second in total kills (57) and tied for third with 10 aces. She shares the honor this week with Westfield State senior Alex Shaw.
The Lancers (5-6) have a busy week that includes four matches. They will travel to Bay Path on Tuesday and Newbury on Thursday in a pair of games that start at 7 PM before they finish the weekend with Salem State (1 PM) and Daniel Webster (5 PM) at home.
