Jasper Selected Corvais Co-ECAC Division III Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

 

Danbury, CT --- Senior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) has been tabbed Co-Corvais ECAC Division III New England Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for helping lead the Lancers to a 4-0 record.

Jasper averaged 17.5 kills, 12.5 digs and 2.5 aces which included 27 kills, 22 digs and a trio of aces in a 3-2 victory over Rhode Island College, 25 kills, 16 digs, three aces and two solo blocks in a 3-2 triumph over Wentworth and nine kills and three aces in a 3-0 win over Mass Maritime.

Though this past weekend, Jasper has earned the top spot in the league statistical standings in kills per set (4.50), total kills (189), total points (218.5) while she is also tied for sixth in both total aces (18) and total blocks (16). Her total digs are among the top ten (121) in the conference.

With 12 kills in a 3-0 victory against Bay Path on Tuesday, Jasper is just nine kills away from the coveted 1,000 kill milestone. She will join former standout Lauren Saylor (2006-09) as the only other Lancer to accomplish the feat.

As of Tuesday, Jasper was ranked seventh in the NCAA Division III in points per set (5.20), ninth in kills per set and 12th in attacks per set (12.00). Her total kills top all student-athletes in New England and are ranked 35th nationally. 

Jasper also captured her third MASCAC Player of the Week accolade through the first four weeks of the season.

The Lancers (11-2, 1-0 MASCAC) have two more road games in the next week starting with Becker on Thursday at 7 and MCLA in a conference matchup on Saturday (1 PM).
