Jasper Earns Second-Straight ECAC New England Player of the Week Honor

Danbury, CT --- Senior Alyssa Jasper (Rockland, MA) has been named Corvais Co-ECAC Division III New England Player of the Week for the second consecutive week for her efforts in a trio of victories for Worcester State.

Jasper averaged 14.3 kills, eight digs and an ace with a .383 hitting percentage which included 17 kills, 17 digs and two aces in a 3-0 victory over MCLA, 14 kills in a 3-0 triumph over Bay Path and 14 kills – including her 1,000th of her career – in a 3-0 win over Becker.

With 252 kills and an outstanding average of 4.55 kills per set, Jasper leads the MASCAC in both categories as she 67 more kills than the next closest student-athlete. Her total blocks (12) are seventh in the league statistical standings as her total digs (145) and aces (21) are eighth.

Among NCAA Division III leaders, Jasper is seventh in points per set (5.22) and eighth in kills per set. In the New England standings, she is at the top in New England in points per set and second regionally in both kills per set and overall kills.

Jasper is now just 105 kills away from the all-time mark held by former standout Lauren Saylor (2006-09) and she is eighth on the career digs list (527).

Earlier this week, Jasper was recognized as the MASCAC Player of the Week for the fourth time in the last five weeks. Junior Mary Donohue (Braintree, MA) of Babson shared this week's ECAC accolade with Jasper.

The Lancers (13-2, 2-0 MASCAC) will play three matches in the next week starting with Westfield State tomorrow at WPI in a 8 o'clock conference match before closing the week with Southern Vermont (1 PM) and Regis (3 PM) in Weston, Mass.
