WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's freshman middle blocker, Sarah Powers (Hopkinton, Mass.) has been named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Rookie of the Week for the week of Sep. 5-11.

Powers tallied 28 kills with a .215 attack percentage, three assists, four service aces, seven digs, and nine total blocks (five solo) in a 2-2 week for the Blue and Gold.

She had a personal-best 10 kills with three digs, three blocks and a service ace in the 3-2 win over UMass Dartmouth and then eight kills, two blocks and a dig in the 3-0 win over Mitchell College.

She currently leads the team with blocks (11) and is second on the team in kills with 39.
