King Earns Fourth Consecutive MASCAC Volleyball Player of the Week Award

WORCESTER, Mass. – Worcester State University's junior outside hitter, Amari King (Lawrence, Mass.) earned her fourth consecutive (fifth this season) Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) player of the week award, as announced by the conference Monday (Oct. 23) afternoon.

 

This past week, King averaged a double-double of 14.25 digs and 13.25 kills with 10 service aces and three blocks in a 3-1 week for the Lancers.

 

She had 15 kills, 12 digs and a solo block in the 3-0 conference win over Bridgewater State. She then added in 13 kills and 18 digs in the 3-1 win over Smith College and 14 kills and 13 digs with two service aces in a non-conference game against Bridgewater State.

 

In the Lancers' lone loss of the week, King still managed to tally 11 kills and 14 digs in the 3-1 setback to Brandeis.

 

King currently leads the MASCAC in kills (342), kills per set (3.49), total attacks (1,004), hitting percentage (.242), points (399.5) and points per set (4.1).

 

The women's volleyball team wraps up the regular season at home as they host Anna Maria on Tuesday (Oct. 24), Mount Ida on Thursday (Oct. 26), and Fitchburg/Nichols on Friday (Oct. 27).
