Volleyball Draws #24 Bowdoin in the First Round of NCAA Tournament

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Worcester State University women's volleyball team is heading to the NCAA tournament this week to challenge the Bowdoin College Polar Bears, the NCAA announced on Monday.

The game will be hosted at Babson College in Wellesley, Mass. on Friday, November 9. The game time is to be announced.  

Bowdoin College comes in with a record of 27-1 overall and 10-0 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. The Polar Bears won their conference championship 3-1 over Amherst on Sunday and are ranked 24th nationally in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

The Polar Bears are led by Caroline Flaharty's (Fort Myers, Fla.) 136 kills and 122 digs. Lisa Sheldon (Venice, Calif.) is a big contributor as well, racking up 209 digs on the season. Kate Kiser (Ingleside, Ill.) is their assist leader, with 431 this season.

The Lancers come into the tournament with a 23-10 record and a second consecutive Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference championship under their belts.
