Women's Volleyball Falls at Clark

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's volleyball team dropped a four-set decision to Clark University on Saturday afternoon at the Kneller Athletic Center. Set scores were 25-14, 20-25, 25-16, 25-11.

With the loss, Worcester State falls to 7-17 overall on the season.

Sophomores Natalie Gillis (Ashland, Mass.) and Leelle Tyler (Longmeadow, Mass.) led the change for Worcester State offensively, each recording nine kills for the Lancers. Gillis finished just a kill shy of a double-double, as she recorded 14 digs in the defeat. 

Worcester's offense otherwise struggled on the day, with the exception of a strong second set. In set two, the Lancers recorded 14 kills with five errors for an attack percentage of .237. In the other three sets combined, the Lancers had 19 kills and 22 errors with an attack percentage of -.027.

Leading Worcester's defense on the afternoon was freshman Camryn Burgio (Quincy, Mass.), who recorded 22 digs. Burgio also had three of Worcester State's six service aces.

Next up for Worcester State, they will host Senior Night on Tuesday evening against Anna Maria.
