Prior to her collegiate start, Coach Garay coached at the high school level for eight years. She began her coaching journey as a freshman girl’s coach at Milford High School. From there, Garay went on to coach boy’s volleyball at St. John’s High School and then girl’s varsity at Bellingham High School before returning to Milford as the head coach of the girl’s team in 2013.

At Bellingham High School, Coach Garay mentored one of her seniors who eventually received the opportunity to play at her dream school and earned captainship in her senior year. When Coach Garay returned to Milford High School as the head coach, she took an 0-20 team and guided them to a 10-10 record, in turn, earning a spot in the playoffs that year and the year following.

In coaching her high school teams, Coach Garay taught fundamentals and basic skills to her players and placed a high importance on generating positive teamwork while promoting good sportsmanship.

Coach Garay graduated from Becker College with a degree in Psychology and holds an EMT license from Mass Bay Community College. She currently works as a Medical Assistant at Milford Gastroenterology Associates and resides in Milford, Mass. with her husband Jose, her daughter Oaklyn, and her three dogs.
